TERMS
This is a part time position for 1.5 days a week. The salary is
aligned to the **Apply on the website** Family Resource Centre Salary
Scales starting at Point 1 of ?**Apply on the website**,**Apply on
the website**. This is a special purpose, one-year fixed term contract
from **Apply on the website**st September **Apply on the website** to
1st September **Apply on the website**. The post funded through the
RTE Does Comic Relief and the Community Foundation of Ireland. The
Youth Development Worker will report to the Athlone Family Resource
Centre Coordinator.
LOCATION:?Athlone Family Resource Centre, Athlone, Co. Westmeath with
the possibility of some remote working subject to agreement.
JOB PURPOSE ?
Athlone Family Resource Centre is partnering with The Community
Foundation of Ireland RTE Comic Relief Fund to develop a range of
strategic ?Creative Mindfulness Hubs? for children across
Longford, Westmeath, Laois, and Offaly. These hubs will provide
opportunities for children (aged **Apply on the website**yrs) to
engage in creative mindfulness and other arts-based activities that
will support school age children who have been affected by the impact
of Covid**Apply on the website** and who do not currently have access
to opportunities to engage in creative and therapeutic supports. The
Youth Development Worker for the Creative Hubs will be responsible for
the planning and coordination of weekly Creative Hub Sessions for
children residing in Athlone town and the surrounding rural areas.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
* Coordinate the collaborative design and delivery of a weekly
creative hub session which focus on providing opportunities for
children (aged **Apply on the website**yrs) to engage in creative,
recreational, and developmental opportunities for learning.
* Delivery of a weekly mindfulness programmes for school age
children.
* Establish and train a panel of volunteers to support the delivery
and sustainability of the creative hubs programme.
* Retain records relating to registration, attendance and group
sessions.
* Provide regular progress reports to the Athlone FRC Coordiantor.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
_MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_
* A bachelors degree or Quality and Qualifications Ireland Level 8 in
Social Care Practice or Youth Work
_REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:_
* At least two years relevant experience
* Experience of working creatively with school aged children.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering evidence-informed
interventions and a good understanding of the processes which enable
improved outcomes
* A track record in working through multi-agency processes
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO THE POST.
Driving Licence and access to vehicle are essential.
